ABOUT CHEF ANITA
Chef Anita curates personalized, innovative menus, and elegant tasting menu dinner experiences for private dinners, dinner parties, special occasions, and corporate events. Her cuisine is tailored to guests' specific tastes and dietary needs. Each dinner is an unforgettable experience that explores the bold and bright flavors of India in a reinvented way!
Chef Anita started her career as a private chef in 2004. She later went on to train and work with chefs in India, Spain, Italy, and in Melbourne, Australia where she was mentored by one of the country's top celebrity chefs. Upon returning back to Southern California, she opened an Indian grocery store where she shared her love of Indian cuisine through cooking classes, demonstrations, and by hosting seasonal food tasting festivals to introduce people to new Indian flavors.
Taking the techniques that she had learned about contemporary cuisine, Anita wanted to apply them to the food of her Indian heritage. She was disappointed in how Indian food was most often served as buffet style curries and overcooked sabzis. She wanted to show the world that Indian cuisine can be sophisticated, refined, and artistically presented.
She now specializes in what she likes to call, "Indi-Mod Cuisine" - a unique approach to Indian classics. Her tasting menu dinners take you on a journey through 4 to 12 paired courses, using modern methods and ideas while maintaining traditional and authentic Indian flavors.
